 Restrictions on Posting Messages
When you click the New topic or New reply icon in a particular forum (shown below), a message might appear, indicating that you do not have permission to post a message.

The reason for this is that some forums contain material that should only be managed by a forum administrator or moderator, such as general forum announcements.

Polls might also be restricted. In some areas of our forum, only administrators may create polls. In other areas, any registered member can post them (How?). Polls can only be created in a new topic message; they cannot be added to reply messages in existing topics. For more information about polls, see Understanding Topic Types.

You are always informed whether or not you can post in a forum, among other things, by checking the Rules for that forum located towards the bottom-right of the page, it will look something like this:

Sometimes, a forum administrator might choose to lock a topic. Members can no longer post replies to topics that are locked. This usually happens when a member creates a new topic that already exists elsewhere in the forum. For more information about locked topics, see Understanding Topic Types.

We appreciate your patience regarding the restrictions that we sometimes place on the forum. We are careful to restrict topics only when absolutely necessary for the common good of all forum members.
