| Sending E-mail Messages |
You send e-mail messages to other members by clicking the e-mail icon (shown in the instructions below) inside their message posts, in their member profile, or in the Memberlist and then completing a message form.
If this icon does not appear, it means that the person you are trying to contact does not have e-mail enabled in his/her profile. In cases like that, you can send the member a Private Message, instead (How?).
Notes: |
| |
To send an e-mail message, you must register (How?), activate your account (How?) and log in (How?).
| |
Before sending an e-mail message, be sure to read the forum policies, first (go there now).
| |
When you send a message, you cannot see the recipient's e-mail address unless he/she sends you a reply message from his/her e-mail account. However, the member you contact will see your e-mail address (the one that is listed in your member profile) in the message header.

| To send an e-mail message to a member: |
| 1) |
Do any one of the following:
Go to any message posted by the member. How?
Find the member's username in the Memberlist. How?
View the member's profile. How?
| 2) |
Click the e-mail icon that appears in one of those 3 areas of the forum.
The icon/button will look something like these examples depending on the style that is installed for the forum:
An e-mail message creation form appears.
| 3) |
In the Subject text box, type a subject line that clearly communicates the nature of your message.
| 4) |
In the Message body text box, type your message.
Note: E-mail messages are in plain text, only. Neither BBCode nor HTML will work. If you use either one, the codes, themselves, will appear in your message, rather than the formatting results of the codes.
| 5) |
If you want a copy of your message to be sent to your own e-mail Inbox, select the Send a copy of this e-mail to yourself check box.
| 6) |
Click the Send e-mail button.
Your message is sent. A page appears, offering you a link that you can click to return to the forum index.
| 7) |
At this point, you can click the index link to return to the forum or use the navigation buttons or Select a forum drop-down list to navigate elsewhere in the forum.
